We are not accepting any new patients at this time. Please check back in for updates as we continue to grow! Thank you for your understanding as we strive to provide our patients with the best care possible!
East to West Functional Medicine does accept many commercial insurance plans! We know it is rare for insurance to be accepted at a Functional Medicine Practice and we strive to be able to continue to operate under an insurance model. We consider it your responsibility as a patient to understand your individual policy coverage details and whether you are 'In or Out of Network' with your insurance. New to our practice? Check out the 'New Patients' page for details on how to verify your coverage! *We are not currently accepting new MEDICARE or UNITED HEALTHCARE insured plans for new or established patients at this time.
At this time we are not accepting new patients with any form of Medicare or Medicare affiliation. Additionally, Medicare patients unfortunately cannot be seen as a 'Cash Pay' patient. Please check back in this FAQ for updates as a new patients in the future!
Patients with a Healthshare, Co-Op, Medicaid, Tricare, or another plan that we are not in contract with are welcome to be seen as a 'Cash-Pay' patient! This does not include Samaritains Purse and Medishare - we are able to bill direct to these insurance plans!
Cash Pay does not require actual cash as payment but payment is required at the time of service in full. All Cash Pay patients receive 15% off what we would typically bill insurance!
As a Functional Medicine Practice digging deep into your health, much goes on behind the scenes to research, evaluate and develop appropriate treatment plans in a dynamic health space. For this reason a higher rate structure is applied to most visits. Appointments are submitted to insurance with appropriate and allowable codes related to your visit and external insurance regulations. Coverage can vary based on your individual insurance plan so we encourage our patients to understand their plan deductibles, co-pays, and limitations.
All Cash Pay patients receive 15% off what we would typically bill insurance! Cash Pay does not require actual cash as payment but payment is required at the time of service in full. We base the cost of the visit on the appropriate and allowable codes related to your visit as if we were to bill an insurance policy. We are unable to negotiate the cost of the visit as we aim to provide our patients with consistency and clarity regardless of whether insurance is involved.
For specifics on the cost of each visit or an estimate prior to your visit, please reach out to our office and we will be happy to assist.
We offer appointments for Blood Draws in office with our Expert Phlebotomist operating as a Courtesy Draw Site for Express Labs and LabCorp.
We strongly encourage all patients to be aware of their coverage and preferred testing locations for labs, imaging and any additional testing. Testing is submitted to insurance and/or diagnostic companies with appropriate diagnosis codes based on your unique health profile.
If you have a High-Deductible or minimal coverage for labs please request information on a Cash Pay option BEFORE testing as adjustments are not available after testing is submitted.
When getting to the root cause of your concerns, additional specialty testing may be requested. Typically, these specialty tests for complex issues potentially related to Mold, Heavy Metals, Lyme, Gut Health and more that aid in diagnosing and giving appropriate treatment plans are not covered by insurance. Payment is required before ordering these tests listed and other similar test kits available through East to West Functional Medicine.
While we do offer scheduled appointment times for Blood Draws and other testing, we strongly encourage all patients to be aware of their coverage and preferred testing locations for labs, imaging and any additional testing. Many insurance plans have a preferred lab or location to provide you with optimal coverage. Please reach out to your independent insurance company for specifics on testing requirements or coverage.
Follow-ups are essential for evaluating and relaying results for labs, imaging and more. These appointments allow your provider to dedicate time to YOU - and YOU alone.
We value the opportunity and ability to be able to treat a variety of concerns from ADHD to Mold Toxicity and beyond while accepting insurance. So we can continue to operate under an insurance model and address multiple concerns, at times, more than one follow-up may be required.
Prescription refills are typically filled within 24-72 business hours after receiving the request. We may require labs and an appointment with your provider to make any adjustments or changes to your prescription. Your Annual Visit and Blood Work is required each year for continued care and prescribing. Some medications, specifically controlled substances, require visits approximately every three months. Refill requests can be submitted through your online Charm Patient Account or by calling 208-395-1090.
